About the School

The School of Religion & Philosophy [SRP] is a flourishing school within the Faculty of Social Sciences, set up by Prof. Dr. Hussain Muhi-ud-Din Qadri in February 2016. Since its establishment, School of Religion & Philosophy has been efficiently disseminating education in various degree programs and equipping capable graduates with communication skills, critical thinking, humanity, and tolerance towards others.

There is ample evidence that exhibits the misunderstanding of other religious traditions (as well as the limited understanding of one's own) has led to much social damage and unnecessary suffering. Religions are even held responsible for the hatred and violence between different groups and nations of the modern world. In this regard, our School of Religion & Philosophy strives to refresh the perspectives, build tolerance and eliminate extremist attitudes. We make an effort to experience the religions in the way that their various practitioners do and elaborate their point of view. For this reason, we try to disregard our usual critical tendencies and to listen empathetically to the messages of the different religions so as to discover the unique beauty and wisdom hidden in each of these religions.

Message

In our society, religions are greatly misunderstood, even a minor act of someone who does not belong to my religion leads to bashful attitudes, excessive hate and pointless extremism. It is now crucial to end this animosity and redundant extremity by educating ourselves and others.
At the School of Religions and Philosophy of Minhaj University Lahore, you learn to disregard the usual critical tendencies, and listen empathetically to the messages of the different religions so as to discover their unique beauty and hidden wisdom. Together, we will make efforts to acquire the in-depth understanding of all religions to help the humanity prevail.

Being the Head of School, I deeply appreciate you to approach this field as it is now time that we educate ourselves and this society to see others as humans and not people belonging to rival religions.
