About the School

Minhaj University Lahore is a pioneer in launching Peace & Counter-Terrorism Studies in Pakistan. As a part of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, our school is dedicated to pursuing knowledge in the field of Peace and Counter-Terrorism Studies. We strive to provide our students with a comprehensive education rooted in peace, social justice, human rights, and professional integrity. With a focus on research, critical thinking, and global perspectives, we aim to shape future professionals and scholars who will positively impact the world.

The school has a rich history of academic excellence and a commitment to addressing global, regional, and local challenges regarding peace. It was established in 2017 and became renowned in no-time for conducting advanced research and learning center. It was developed as an endeavor to introduce multi-dimensional inter-disciplinary programs in the field of Peace and Counter-Terrorism Studies in Pakistan. Throughout the years, the school has developed a strong reputation for delivering countless contributions in the field of Peace and Counter-Terrorism Studies and producing well-rounded graduates.
 
As we look toward the future, we are driven by a strong sense of optimism and a commitment to maintaining our academic efficacy. We strive to adapt to the evolving needs of the international landscape continually and to produce graduates equipped with the knowledge, skills, and ethical sense necessary to address the complex challenges of peace and stability of our time.

Objectives

  • Familiarize the students with key concepts of peace & counter-terrorism, global governance, and conflict resolution.
  • Help students in examining and understanding various issues, dimensions, perspectives, and paradigms of conflict and violence
  • Teach the students to develop and strengthen the knowledge of citizens and civil societies to work collectively towards a peaceful environment.

  • ­The worldly renowned philosophical and academic contributions of the founder of MUL, Shaykh ul Islam Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, are well incorporated into the school's curriculum.

Collaborations

As we believe in the power of joint efforts and inclusive approaches to build lasting peace; we actively collaborate to enhance our students’ and faculties’ academic and research experiences.
 
The school has a collaboration with a UK-based research institution named the Centre for Analysis of Radical Rights (CARR) to launch joint research projects to counter extremism and terrorism.
Recently, the school has also joined hands with Rescue 1122 for a certificate course on Safety Management and Risk Assessment; which is designed by the School of Peace and Counter-Terrorism Studies under the leadership of the head of the school.
 
Moreover, we have established strong partnerships with renowned universities, research institutes, and with local, regional, and international organizations worldwide. These collaborations provide several opportunities for student and faculty exchanges, joint research projects, conferences, workshops, and other academic initiatives. Through these collaborations, we aim to broaden our students' horizons and expose them to diverse perspectives while facilitating knowledge and expertise sharing.
