About the School

Language is one of the means of expressing and imparting human knowledge. This fact alone points to the overriding importance of languages in human civilization in general, and in human development in specific. It also plays an important role in development of the personality of humans. Keeping in view the crucial importance of the language, School of Arabic at MUL aims to provide the best environment to the scholars having desire to seek literary knowledge in true spirit.

The school was established under the Faculty of languages in 2005. It started with a class of M.A. Keeping in view the modern educational requirements, BS Honors was introduced in place of MA in 2008. The school illustrated further developments by offering MPhil program in Arabic and then in 2010 PhD program was launched. Praise be to Allah, at present the department is successfully running the three levels, i.e. BS, MPhil and PhD.

Through its curriculum, the school aims to broaden students' vision, illuminate their intellect, and provide them with profound insights into the Arabic language and its literary works. This institution offers a wide array of options for Arabic majors, preparing them to pursue advanced research in language and literature, both in domestic and international contexts. Graduates of the school have various career pathways available to them, including opportunities in teaching, civil services, translation, and language expertise.

Most of our faculty consists of PhDs which shows the concern of the MUL in building the nation to study Quran and Hadith in true perspective. Our graduate and post graduate programs are also keenly designed to meet the international requirements and are organized in the light of HEC guidelines.
