Dr. Iftikhar Younis Mallhi is Assistant Professor at the Department of Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Minhaj University Lahore. Dr. Mallhi completed his PhD in Food and Nutrition from the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore, Pakistan, in 2024, and conducted his PhD research at the Department of Food and Nutritional Sciences, University of Reading, UK. His PhD research focused on exploring the health benefits of plant-based foods as nutraceuticals, functional compounds, polyphenols, and antioxidants, as well as their associated health advantages. Additionally, he conducted research on extending the shelf life of strawberries using modified atmosphere packaging technology. He holds an MPhil from UVAS, which he completed in 2018, and a BS (Hons) in Food Science and Nutrition from Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF) in 2015. After completing his MPhil, he worked as a Research Associate on a HEC-funded project at UVAS. He also has six years of teaching experience in the Human Nutrition and Dietetics program at GCUF-affiliated campuses in Lahore, where he supervised many students during their internships in their final semesters. Additionally, he has authored seven research articles, contributing to a total impact factor of 16.57
