Dr. Afsar Rathor is a global citizen as he grew up, studied and has roots in several countries.
He has served at the UN responsible for implementing multimillion-dollar projects in Africa, South America and East Europe. He has also worked with the UN Department of Peacekeeping (UNDPK) serving in several war-hit conflict zones, among others, in Bosnia Herzegovina, Rwanda and Somalia etc.
Dr. Rathor personifies thought leadership and is also a founding member of multiple international think tanks and NGOs promoting peace, justice, and interfaith harmony. Leveraging his extensive experience in mediating conflict, he has advised on reconciliation and reconstruction efforts in regions like Rwanda, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Yemen. Established the Coalition of Faith-Based Organization in Pakistan in October 2024 to foster interfaith harmony and promote sustainable peace. Currently, he serves as an advisor for Yemen, crafting comprehensive policies and programs for the nation's redevelopment and recovery.
Dr. Afsar Rathor is the founding member and the President of LIOS-SOIL Organization (LIOS), an Austrian based NGO providing policymakers and other stakeholders with solutions to the globally escalating issues of loss of fertile topsoil, land erosion and desertification, as well as promotes Regenerative Agricultural Management methods.
