The School of Political Science organized a seminar on "Sustainable Development Goals". The event featured keynote speeches by former UN Executive Dr. Afsar Rathor and Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sajid Mahmood Shahzad.

Dr. Afsar Rathor expressed his views during the ceremony and emphasized that environmental, social, cultural, and economic factors are crucial for sustainable global development. He highlighted that, despite scientific advancements, environmental degradation has posed severe risks to future generations, including poverty, hunger, and disease. He stressed the importance of maintaining a balance between society and economics on a global scale through consistent efforts and policy formulation. He also has an interactive session with the students in the conference room of the LRC 

Prof. Dr. Sajid Mahmood Shahzad, Vice Chancellor, engaged with participants during the seminar. He asserted that sustainable development goals can only be achieved by improving the national economy. He advocated for the swift transition of Pakistan's powerful classes from land-based resources to broader maritime resources, emphasizing that the Blue Economy is vital for Pakistan's economic progress.

The seminar concluded with Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sajid Mahmood Shahzad presenting Dr. Afsar Rathor with a shield to recognize his contributions.
