The Centre for Economics Planning and Development (CEPD),  in collaboration with the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, hosted a pre-budget seminar to discuss Pakistan's current economic situation. Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Governors and Economist, stressed the need for Pakistan to shift from a protectionist mindset to an economic perspective, highlighting the importance of reducing economic no-go areas to attract investment. He announced the establishment of an Entrepreneurship Center at Minhaj University in partnership with the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry. 

Dr. Muhammad Amanullah, Joint Chief Economist Planning & Development Board, emphasized the need for local production instead of importing raw materials. Dr. Khurram Shahzad, Director of the Centre for Economics Planning and Development (CEPD), expressed gratitude to the speakers and provided an overview of CEPD's objectives. Zafar Mahmood, senior Vice President of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, called for integrated policies and reforms for Pakistan's industrial and economic development.
