Seekers Club hosted a ceremony to mark Pakistan's 77th Independence Day. The event was graced by the presence of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Sajid Mahmood Shahzad, senior journalist Hamid Waleed, educationist and Nausheen Khalid Assistant Professor at Punjab University and Secretary Seekers Club, Ammara Maqsood Qadri, who all shared their thoughts on the occasion. Ammara Maqsood Qadri welcomed the guests, while Hamid Waleed emphasized the significance of freedom, highlighting the sacrifices made for Pakistan's independence. He added that Pakistan faces numerous challenges today, which can only be overcome by unity among the people and institutions.
Vice Chancellor, in his address, stated that the main reason for the creation of Pakistan was the deprivation of fundamental rights of Muslims. He praised the role of youth, particularly students, in the Pakistan Movement under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He stressed that Pakistan's future lies in the youth's hands, urging them to embrace modern education and contribute to the nation's development.
Educationist Nausheen Khalid also addressed the audience. The event concluded with a play titled Junoon Aur Ishq Se Milti Hai Azadi, performed by the Seekers Dramatic Society, depicting the struggles faced during the Pakistan Movement. The performance was well-received by the audience. Students from the School of Media and Communication Studies and Deputy Director of Student Affairs Umair Abbas also presented patriotic songs. Many deans, faculty members, and students of Minhaj University Lahore attended the ceremony.
