The School of International Relations at Minhaj University Lahore recently organized a seminar titled "Bridging the Gap between Rhetoric and Reality: Comparative Analysis of Gaza and Ukraine." Dr. Hassan Farooq Mashwani, Assistant Professor at MUL's School of International Relations, emphasized the significance of media and political leaders' narrative building against reality. The seminar highlighted ongoing conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine, focusing on their humanitarian crises. A mock exhibition by the United Nations Human Rights Council addressed the urgent need for humanitarian assistance in these regions. Minhaj University Lahore's ambassadors of SDGs, representing NO16 for peace, justice, and strong institutions, presented on the topic. Students from MUL and GCU engaged in a Model United Nations session discussing the issue. Prof. Dr. Sajid Mehmood Shahzad, Vice Chancellor of MUL, commended the IR department and students for their insightful discussions, with Dr. Uzma Naz, Head of the School of International Relations, also gracing the occasion. Shields were distributed among moderators and the best delegates of the MUN session.
