The event was graced by Dr. M.A. Raoof's son, Chairman of the Board of Governors, University of Lahore, Mr. Awais Raoof, as the chief guest. Speaking at the event, Awais Raoof highlighted that his late father was a dedicated advocate of education, a remarkable administrator, and an exceptional father. He praised Dr. M.A. Raoof's relentless efforts in promoting higher education in Pakistan, founding the University of Lahore as a premier private educational and research institution. Mr. Awais Raoof shared that his father devoted his life to improving the younger generation through education.
Former hockey Olympian Akhtar Rasool commended Dr. M.A. Raoof for his unparalleled contributions to academia and research, emphasizing his humanitarian spirit and dedication to helping others. Dr. Javed Iqbal echoed these sentiments, noting that Dr. Raoof revolutionized private-sector education in Pakistan by adopting the slogan "Education for All" and establishing a world-class institution.
At the event, Nadeem Chaudhry, Director of Media & Productions, expressed his deep connection with Dr. Raoof, describing him as a multidimensional figure who made invaluable contributions to education and research.
The ceremony concluded with prayers for Dr. M.A. Raoof's soul, followed by a large turnout of Minhaj University deans, faculty members, and students.
