3G Global Good Governance Award for Social Responsibility in Higher Education Award 2018
Cambridge IFA, an international organization, awarded "3G Social Responsibility in Higher Education Award 2018" to Minhaj University Lahore (MUL) for rendering excellent services in the field of higher education. The ceremony took place in Malaysian capital. Deputy Chairman BoG Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri received the award. Minhaj University was chosen for the award on the basis of provision of quality education to students belonging to low income groups.
While receiving the award, President of MQI and Deputy Chairman BoG, Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, said that global recognition of educational services being rendered by Minhaj University Lahore is not only a matter of immense happiness for those associated with the University but also a unique distinction for Pakistan as well. He said that "3G Social Responsibility in Higher Education Award 2018" is an international award which is given annually to the top-performing NGOs around the world including the universities in recognition of meritorious services by them. He said that this award was given to the Higher Education Commission last year and it is for the first time that MUL, a private sector University, has been chosen to receive this award in Pakistan.
Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that Cambridge IFA is an international organization that gives awards on the basis of wonderful performance. He further told that in addition to Minhaj University Lahore, a Korean University and a few other NGOs were also given the award in the ceremony held in Malaysia. He said that Cambridge IFA monitors the universities as to what extent they provide quality education to the people belonging to low income groups and have people-friendly educational policies. He said that it is after MUL fulfilled all the requisite criteria that it was selected for the award, which is a unique honour for us.
